Lumpen Radio is part of the Chicago School Board Voter Guide 2026

Lumpen Radio is now part of the Chicago School Board Voter Guide 2026 hub led by Chalkbeat Chicago. This Hub Landing Page consists of interactive profiles of all 46 candidates running for school board. It also showcases some of the collaborative efforts made between different newsrooms, which include: 15 West, Block Club Chicago, Borderless, Chicago Sun-Times, La Raza, and South Side Weekly amongst others.

In this Voter Guide you will be able to find candidate profiles, a subdistrict map to locate which one you belong to, and some key dates about the election. The webpage also contains valuable information about these elections, such as which subdistricts are elected for two years, and which for four years. In the candidate profiles you will find each candidates top three goals, yes/no answers to some of the solutions proposed to the problems CPS is facing, and some open-ended answers to multiple questions. The guide is trilingual, featuring information in English, Spanish, and Mandarin.

Lumpen Radio participates on this hub via ‘Round the Board, a school bus-inspired radio series exploring Chicago’s historic transition to its first fully elected school board, making stops along the way to hear from candidates, educators, experts, students, parents, and community members. The series journeys through a central question: Who should help shape the future of Chicago Public Schools (CPS)?
