Deep Cuts at Life on Marz

Lumpen Radio is always excited to create more community-centered projects! One of our newest projects we’re proud to launch is Deep Cuts at Life on Marz!

Lumpen Radio would like to invite you to our Thursday nightly gatherings (6-8pm) hosted at Life on Marz Community Club (1950 N Western Ave.) They’ll be completely open to the public, so come relax and enjoy live sets from beloved Lumpen DJs!

Here’s the upcoming schedules of DJ sound selections:

(11/13) Todd Carter of bel_air presents: electronic, funk, hip-hop, music from all over the galaxy

(11/20) Slo Mo of Future Rootz: Fausto Alejandro López blends his Xicago roots with traditional sounds through a mixture of house, cumbia, reggae, tropical bass, and global remix.

(12/04) King Hippo of QC: Alejandro Ayala is a Chicago event organizer and record collector who DJs as King Hippo. He runs the biweekly show QC on Lumpen Radio, and he’s hosted and co-hosted a series for Worldwide FM that focuses on Chicago R&B, jazz, soul, and more

(12/11) Osvaldo Cuevas of Bilengua: Osvaldo Cuevas is the creator of Bi-Lengua radio that bridges the gap of the Americas with themed episodes that explore the collision of culture. Expect an eclectic tour of music and conversation in English and Spanish

(12/18) Tim Zawada of Star Creature Radio: Tim Zawada has a lengthy rap-sheet as a DJ, Record Producer and Label-Owner plus one of the founders of now-global Boogie Munsters DJ Collective. His passion for helping to shape and inform the evolving state of the contemporary boogie scene is evidenced in his tour itinerary, residencies and release schedule. He’s put out over 100 vinyl projects hitting all corners of the electronic disco spectrum across the Star Creature and Tugboat Edits labels. He has deep crates and can mix well, knowledge and skills regularly displayed at festivals and clubs across North America, Europe and Asia.
